Peter Ludwig Berger (March 17, 1929 – June 27, 2017) was an Austrian-born American sociologist who frequently wrote on religion. He was a regular contributor to The American Interest.
The left likes to look for the “root causes of poverty”. A better project would be looking for “the root causes of wealth”. It would be helpful if Catholic social teaching supported this project.
The use of the category of “Nones” in surveys pertaining to religion should be replaced with “Buts”—that is a category for those who will say something like “I am Catholic, but…” The results of such surveys would be much more enlightening.
